Pakistanis Can't Stop Making Fun Of ‘Project Ghazi's' Terrible New Trailer

By Arslan Athar | 20 Feb, 2019

‘Project Ghazi’ was all set to release in the summer of 2017, but during the film’s premiere showing it became evident that there were some major issues with the audio and the special effects in the movie. It was decided at that moment, on the night of the premier, that the commercial release of the film was to be delayed until further notice. Some 2 years later, the makers of the film announced that they’re releasing their film on the 22nd of March.

To this end, the trailer for the film was shared on social media.

Also, what even is this shot?

There are cuts to some objectionable animation and CGI effects.

It seems to be about some covert army mission that somehow also involves the main character’s father.

And also there’s a gang on the loose that’s kidnapping and killing all of Pakistan’s smartest people.

Also, the dubbing is pretty obvious throughout the trailer.

It’s obvious and IT IS BAD.

This definitely wins for best comment.

Modi was also brought into this.

I don’t know if I should be laughing at this as hard as I am.

I had genuinely forgotten that Humayun Saeed was a part of this till I saw the trailer.

The consensus was not good, to say the least.

It’s clear that people had a lot of expectations especially given that the film has been delayed by 2 years. While there was some hate, there were comments that called for people to go watch the film, using the age-old argument of ‘supporting Pakistani cinema’. That’s all well and good but this support can only go as far when the quality of content remains stagnant. There have been a few instances where Pakistani cinema has shown maturity and growth, but those instances are outweighed by films that were mediocre.
