Musical genes really do seep through the Mustehsan’s family. Momina’s overnight plunge into the stardom pool after her song ‘Afreen Afreen’ with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan transformed the starlet into Pakistan (and MangoBaaz’s) obsession. While Momina basks in the shimmering twilight of her fame, her brother Haider *HDR* Mustehsan is following suit.
Haider just graduated and will now be focusing on making music until his masters
Haider told MangoBaaz he’s currently on a gap year, where he’ll be releasing is first EP with about five songs; “hopefully that will release within the month or early March.” He insists he’s not doing it professionally right now – “I graduated in Political Science last year and wanted to focus on music before I do my masters. Maybe further down the line, I’ll revisit the idea of taking it more seriously.”
Haider wants to win a Grammy – that’s when he’ll know he’s made it
He’s inspired by Ed Sheeran and A$AP Rocky to name a few and collaborated with the Leo Twins for his single ‘In My Mind.’ When asked if he’ll collaborate with his sister anytime soon, he replied “no probably not in the near future. Both of us have a very different kind of styles of music we like. But hey you never know if we’re bored one day, we might decide to do something!”
He’ll be in Islamabad this week for the highly anticipated ‘Mad Decent Block Party’ and will debut a few new songs from his upcoming EP
