After Hamza Ali Abbasi’s rant on how item songs should be obliterated from Lollywood’s fraternity, ARY swiftly released their much-anticipated item song from ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2‘ with model Sadaf Kanwal whose venture into the realm of item numbers can be applauded. It seems like it’s the new age for models, what with Amna Ilyas recently popping up in an item song and now Sadaf following in quick pursuit.

It’s the model’s first item song, and we think she’s braved a just attempt

The set is very Bollywood-esque, with the tainted windows and dusky dim-lit candles saturating the song

Sadaf exhibits her stirring belly dancing

As she sets the screen ablaze, paving forth a new age of item songs in Lollywood

Although it looks heavily inspired by Indian item songs

But it is extremely good in its own, too

With whispers of Priyanka Chopra in her sizzling ‘Ram Leela‘ number

And hints of Deepika Padukone from her ‘Lovely’ number in ‘Happy New Year’

Nonetheless, the Arabian backdrop, although slightly recycled, works splendidly

Critics have been mellow, and Pakistanis have in turn praised Sadaf’s solid attempt at her first item number
