Less than a month has passed since little Zainab’s tragedy.

Zainab’s murder was soon followed by a public outcry over little Asma’s tragic fate.

It’s an established fact that we have a long way to go as far as understanding and stopping harassment is concerned.
However, when more incidents come to light, it further throws us into a hole of shame. One such incident that was recorded and spread everywhere is that of a senator publicly harassing a clearly uncomfortable young girl.
Here is the disturbing video that has been making rounds on social media.

The video clearly shows the man, identified as a Senator, holding the child close. However, his hand movements seem inappropriate. Moreover, the child clearly looks uncomfortable, with her hands folded awkwardly.
While some people were seen defending his actions, labeling them as being affectionate…

…others were quick to point out how this was not the case.

Most people felt uncomfortable by his actions.

Others wondered why the crowd was turning a blind eye to a leader publicly harassing a girl.

The need to teach our children about predators was also highlighted.

Some people even noticed something REALLY off about the video.

And others seemed to have made the same observation.

At the end of it all, people seemed disgusted and heartbroken.

We talk about change and how it needs to be implemented. However, when a man makes a child uncomfortable in public and people turn a blind eye, it shows us how we have a long way to go. The battle doesn’t seem completely lost, however, The video has gained traction and people everywhere are absolutely furious. Here’s hoping there’s some form of accountability for such disgusting acts.
