Everything from road blocks to media blocks, it seems as if the lives of Pakistanis were completely put on hold these past couple of days.

And even if we could deal with the political aspect of everything – it got PERSONAL when the government blocked Facebook and Twitter and Instagram.

But out of the blue, a three letter word came to the rescue, and all of our social media prayers had been answered.

That’s right friends. VPN.

VPN’s, for those of you who don’t know, are virtual private networks that are used to access the Internet for remote users or people who well, can’t access the Internet.

Also known to have saved the lives of all us Pakistanis who had been dying of boredom thanks to the media block.

VPN’s aren’t a secret, and they are hands down, the REAL heroes.

It didn’t take long for people to jump onto the VPN ship.

Of course, the term VPN wasn’t COMPLETELY foreign to *ahem* some *ahem* of us.

None the less, VPN’s all over the country saved the lives of hundreds of social media accounts.

Of course, it didn’t take long for the government to take notice of us finding a loop hole to their blocking antics.

Which made us a little emotional (understandably)…

And okay, besides all the jokes and giggles, we all still have to remember that the media block was a very real thing.

Media is an important tool in the world right now and it’s unfortunate that we had to be stripped of it.

But just because we were all thinking it –
