Here's How Pakistanis Are Reacting To Justice Shaukat Siddiqui's Opinion About Army's Role In Faizabad Dharna

By Aam Nawab | 27 Nov, 2017

Numerous protests headed by various religious parties erupted across major cities of Pakistan have been happening this past weekend. The most prominent one was in Faizabad wherein protesters that identified themselves as part of Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah had been staging a sit-in aka dharna for the past three weeks.

Several people were injured with a few losing their lives amidst all the clashes upon the Government’s efforts to end the dharna forcibly

It is being said that six people were killed during the protests with around 200 getting injured.

PEMRA had also decided to block all private news channels and social media websites

And it was VPN to the rescue, for everyone

The protests were called off today after Law Minister Zahid Hamid resigned

The protesters thanked the army for brokering a truce agreement.

Chief Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was not happy with the involvement of the army, apparently

According to news reports, Justice Shaukat grilled Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal over the army’s role in all of this. ‘In what capacity, the Army Chief assumed the role of guarantor in the agreement,’ Justice Siddiqui had inquired.

After all that has happened in the past few days, the people of Pakistan are divided over what has taken place.

Some lauded the Chief Justice’s sentiments over the matter.

Meanwhile there were those that didn’t necessarily agree with Justice Siddiqui’s approach

With many calling out his own past record
