Lately, there has been some talk about iPhones and their shelf lives. More specifically, the reason why those lives are so short, encouraging loyal customers to buy the next model in the lineage.

According to recent reports Apple has admitted that it has a hand in slowing down your iPhone

Apple uses lithium batteries that tend to decay over some time. And you won’t believe this, but…

“after 500 charge cycles, the iPhone battery is designed to retain only 80% of its original capacity.”

And people have actually confirmed this by checking their phone’s performance

So Apple, in all of its money-making glory is doing just that. Making tons and tons and tons of money from us FOR NO REASON.

People are now filing a case against Apple for deliberately slowing down their iPhones

Stefan Bogdanovich and Dakota Speas, from the US, brought a class action lawsuit in California against Apple, according to the official filing report.  They claim that Apple should have asked for their consent to “slow down their iPhones.” Both plaintiffs are owners of an iPhone 7.

Bogdanovich and Speas also claim they “suffered interferences to their iPhone usage due to the intentional slowdowns.”
