Inzamam-ul-Haq just announced his retirement and people are already wondering who’s next.

Former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, Inzamam-ul-Haq who was serving as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s chief selector has just announced that he will not be taking an extension for his contract which expires at the end of the month. He had been serving as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s chief selector for the last three years. His contract originally ended in April but was extended because the ICC World Cup was coming up.

“I realized that I did all I could and will resign after my tenure is up on July 30,” Inzamam-ul-Haq said at his press conference according to Geo News. He went on to say, “Unfortunately we lost the opening match and it is difficult to make up the run rate in later matches.”

But now that his retirement has been announced, people are left wondering who will be responsible next.

Other people made jokes about Imam-ul-Haq’s reaction to the news.

But after Pakistan’s loss at the ICC World Cup, a lot of people are happy with Inzamam-ul-Haq’s decision.

But overall, the decision comes as a surprise to a lot people since everyone might have expected that Inzamam-ul-Haq would choose to extend his contract.

A lot of people upset about the team that had been selected since the get-go. As soon as the ICC World Cup had started, people had reservations about the captain and his fitness level as well as other team members. And then there were those who believed that Imam-ul-Haq selection was heavily based on the fact that he’s Inzamam-ul-Haq’s nephew.

But nevertheless, let’s see who becomes the next Chief Selector for PCB. Who do you think it will be? Let us know in the comments below.
