Mahira Khan was recently in Istanbul for a friend’s wedding.

After photos of Mahira Khan took over Instagram, some Indian publications started churning the rumor mill.

They claim that Mahira Khan has gotten engaged to her ‘longtime boyfriend’ Salim Karim. 

They’re using this picture as their proof.

According to these publications, Mahira Khan got engaged in April in Turkey. According to the rumors, close friends were present for the ‘ceremony’. 

They further go on to say, “In this latest picture, Mahira Khan and Salim Karim are all hearts for each other and the couple is truly looking lovely together. We can see that while Salim is looking handsome in formal attire, Mahira is looking beautiful in a cream-colored gown. The picture is reportedly from a party wherein the two were recently spotted dancing together. The couple also indulged in some passionate PDA. However, there is no official confirmation till now from the couple about their engagement.”

However, it is of worthy mention that Mr. Salim Karim did comment under Mahira Khan’s post. 

The large interest around this in India had resulted in some details about Salim Karim coming to the surface. 

Apparently, he is the CEO of a Pakistani Startup called ‘Simpaisa’ that allows mobile payments. Apparently, Salim is also a DJ. Apparently, Mahira and Salim made an appearance together in 2017 at a launch event.

This news has blown up across the border, but funnily enough, there is a lot of calm here in Pakistan. 

If we think back to ALL the rumors about Mahira Khan and her life, the name ‘Salim Karim’ doesn’t come to mind, which is what makes this news a bit hard to digest. The source of this news comes from one of India’s largest tabloids that often report a lot of celebrity-related rumors. That being said, there is no doubt that the two are friends and have the same social circle.

Furthermore, Mahira Khan is an extremely private person and keeps a lot of details about her personal life to herself.

Even if she were to get engaged, it would be unlikely that the news would get out. It is important that the media respect her decision to keep private in such cases.

A source close to Mahira spoke to the Express Tribune and said that these rumors are not true and that the actress was in Istanbul for her friend’s wedding.
