Around this time, TikTok got banned in Pakistan, just when Jannat had recently hit 10 million followers on the platform. Considering the circumstances, many people associated her move to Japan with TikTok being banned.

She further caused tongues wagging because she hinted that she was moving to Japan because of the Pakistani people

When asked on Instagram, why she was moving to Japan, she replied to a fan saying it was because while Pakistan was a beautiful country, the mentality of the people living here is not good.

Later, when TikTok got unbanned, many people trolled her for her comments because they had falsely assumed that her move was because of the ban

After TikTok got unbanned, many Pakistanis joked that Jannat probably wants to come back now and she is regretting leaving. Many memes about her were made and the jokes about the situation took over Twitter.

Well, in a recent Instagram live with her fans, Jannat Mirza explained that she is in fact coming back to Pakistan and not moving to Japan anymore

She told fans that many people said that she was leaving Pakistan because of banning culture and that it was not true. Jannat said, she already knew that TikTok would get unbanned in a few days because she was in contact with them and that’s not why she was planning to leave Pakistan, anyway.

Jannat said her reason for saying she was moving was the news surrounding the recent surge in rape cases that had begun being reported in the media after the motorway incident

In reference to her comment about moving because of the mentality of the people of Pakistan she said that when she talked about the bad mentality of Pakistani people she was talking about CCPO Lahore

Jannat said that she talked about leaving because of the poor mentality of Pakistani people, she only meant people like the CCPO Lahore and his victim-blaming comments. She said whenever she would see Pakistani news channels while in Japan where she’s currently on vacation for the past three months, she would always see headlines about rape cases.

She also said that she was shocked that the CCPO Lahore made irresponsible comments regarding the motorway gang rape case. Due to that, she was overwhelmed with emotions and made her previous statement.
