Prime Minister Imran Khan has finally spoken. After a long day of silence that led to a lot of disgruntled criticism from some people, the PM addressed the nation at around 7.45pm. His speech is being met with a lot of praise for his “guts” to call it like it is.
Imran Khan’s speech addressed the violence that has been happening after Asia Bibi’s case verdict was announced earlier today by the Supreme Court

He spoke out against the violence and labeled such elements as not a true face of “Islam”
To declare judges Wajib ul Qatal, to call the army chief a non Muslim, to tell the troops to rebel against the army, what kind of anti state behaviour is this? @ImranKhanPTI #PMIKAddress

Prime Minister Khan was critical of senseless violence over the Supreme Court verdict, saying it’s not the way to react especially when the country is going through an economic crisis

"You can not let these people provoke you or tempt you, you can not listen to these hatred filled, country enemies. They are not serving Islam, they are serving their political causes. I'm warning them, do not fight with the state. Do not harm this country." MY PMðŸ˜#PMIKAddress

People are especially praising the speech for being short. Long, dragging public addresses are not admired by anyone, least of all a population weary and tense after a long day of stress and unnecessary violence.
Even those critical of the Prime Minister are uniting behind the speech for being powerful enough to convey a clear message to negative elements
A bold, logical and beautiful speech by the prime minister Imran Khan on important issue after Supreme Court judgement on Asia bb. Its good to see PM come forward to take the bull by horns. PM raised valid&relevant points. I hope everyone will support prime minister on this issue.

At times like this, it is indeed refreshing to see a leader who does not mince his words. This quality of Prime Minister Khan ends up endearing him to a lot of his critics at such times of need. Yes, he did take a whole working day to respond where he was met with a bit of criticism for taking a meeting with the boxer Amir Khan and his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, instead of addressing the growing violence over Asia Bibi’s verdict. However, better late than never.
