‘Avengers: Endgame’ was the most awaited movie of 2019. It opened to eager audiences last weekend, and people were not left disappointed.
This past Sunday, Marvel announced that it had collected a WHOPPING $1.2 Billion!
It has smashed the record for opening weekend collections. ‘Infinity War’s collected $640 Million in comparison.
Now this leaves the question of how much the stars of the film are getting paid for their part in the blockbuster.
The ‘Hollywood Reporter’ broke the news of the salaries the cast members will be receiving.
It came as NO surprise to find out that Robert Downey Jr. would be getting the big bucks.
According to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, Robert Downey Jr. struck a good deal with Marvel where he is entitled to a percentage of Box Office collections for every Avengers movie he appears in. Sources claim that the Iron Man actor received about $106 Million for his role in ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars’. As estimates so far go, the actor has earned $75 Million from Endgame so far.
Chris Hemsworth comes up next. Supposedly he is meant to receive $21-28 Million for each for the final two Avengers films; ie ‘Infinity Wars’ and ‘Endgame’. Captain America (Chris Evans) will be receiving the same deal.
Lastly, Scarlett Johansson has been reported to be receiving $28 Million for her stand-alone film for ‘Black Widow’. Above all the contract salaries the stars will be receiving, they will also be getting bonuses, which were meant to kick in after the $1.5 Million mark. Currently, the movie’s collections stand at $2 Billion.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ marks the end of an 11-year Marvel narrative. It remains to be seen what Marvel does next and how the Marvel universe will grow and change.
