Fawad Chaudhry trolling Mufti Popalzai is actually pretty funny tbh
To eliminate this clash of two Eids once and all, the Federal Minister of science and Technology, Mr. Fawad Chaudhry, intervened by launching an official moonsighting website in Pakistan. This website was supposed to catapult Pakistan into 21st Century by helping make the process of Muslim calendar months more scientific but it seems to have just exacerbated the controversy.
In fact, Mr. Fawad Chaudhry’s moon sighting website has enraged maulanas across the spectrum, from Mufti Muneeb to Mufti Popalzai
A statement attributed to Mufti Popalzai was circulating on social media
The statement said that Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman and Fawad Chaudhry should wait for the surprise announcement regarding the moon sighting in the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Later it was announced by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that they will officially celebrate Eid a day before the rest of the country
After the announcement by Mufti Popalzai, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government supported the decision of Mufti sahib.
Fawad Chaudhry could not hold back and ended up responding to the entire situation with a savage AF remark
The Minister sarcastically mentioned that it’s impossible to sight a moon in this bad weather. He basically said koi apna naam chand rakh lai tau he mumkin hai aaj chand nazar aye. Chauhdhry implied that this clearly is false reporting of the moon sighting.
People ended up criticizing the awaam of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and mentioned that they ALWAYS end up sighting the moon on a different day
They even said that since Mufti Popalzai deviated from Fawad Chaudhry’s moon calendar, it was highly likely that Mufti Muneeb would also announce Eid on a different day from the calendar
According to the calendar of the Ministry of Science and Technology Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Wednesday June 5, 2019.
A few also remembered to appreciated the step Mr. Chaudhry’s ministry to try to take the responsibility of unifying the decisions regarding moon sighting
People joked about the entire situation and said the scientific calendar was used as packets of naswar
Whatever that means.
People from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa evenn urged the Government, without success of course, to convince Mufti Popalzai because they also didn’t want to celebrate Eid on a separate day
Alas, it was meant to be a two-Eid year this time, again.
On the contrary, a few argued that the moon was also visible in the app introduced by the Minister so Eid should be celebrated as per Mufti Popalzai’s announcement
They also mocked the Minister for not having influence over fellow institutions, like the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who announced Eid with Mufti Popalzai
So, when are you celebrating Eid? Khair din jo bhe ho, Eid Mubarak to you all. As they say, larai larai maaf karo, Allah ka ghar saaf karo.
