How 11 of Pakistan's Most Famous Sites Look on Google Maps

We thought it might be interesting to look at how some of the most famous Pakistani sites look on Google Maps. While they look amazing, you should visit them up close to truly admire their beauty.

 

1. Jahangir’s Tomb

The tomb is located at Shahdara, Lahore. This used to be Jahangir’s favorite visiting spot and thus his son ordered that this tomb should be built in his honour.

2. Shalimar Bagh

Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden which is also located in Lahore. It’s a great picnic spot for families.

3. Pakistan Monument

The Pakistan Monument was built in 2007 and is located in Islamabad. It represents the four provinces and three territories of Pakistan.

4. Lahore Fort

The Lahore Fort, also known as Shahi Qilla, is located right next to Badshahi mosque.

5. Badshahi Mosque

The Badshahi Mosque is undoubtedly Lahore’s most famous landmark and a major tourist attraction. It is also the fifth largest mosque in the world.

6. Mazar e Quaid

Mazar e Quaid in Karachi is the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, his sister, and Liaquat Ali Khan.

7. Minar-e-Pakistan

Minar-e-Pakistan was constructed in the 1960s and is located in Lahore. The monument has become a national symbol of Pakistan.

8. Shah Faisal Masjid

The Shah Faisal Masjid is an iconic symbol of Islamabad and is the second biggest mosque in Pakistan. The mosque was built in 1986 and is named after the late King Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia.

9. Lake Saif-ul-Maluk

Saif-ul-Muluk is one of the highest lakes in Pakistan and is located near the town of Naran in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. There are a lot of similar interesting places Pakistan has to offer.

10. Mohenjo-daro

Mohenjo-daro which means Mound of the Dead, is located in Sindh and is considered amongst the world’s earliest major urban settlements. It was one of the largest settlements of the Indus Valley Civilization.

11. K2

K2 is the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest and is known as the Savage Mountain. It is said that about one person dies on the mountain for every four who summit.
