Faisal Vawda just became the butt of several jokes… again
So, by this time we all know about the horrific attack on the Chinese embassy in Karachi. People of Pakistan weren’t really able to handle the trauma and in the midst of the scene, a minister was spotted WITH a gun. Here are the details of the entire story.
A video circulated showing federal minister Faisal Vawda hanging out while with the law enforcement in full gear while a police operation was underway
What a crass display of machismo. Ministers atleast should be sensitive to the rule of law.
Under what authority can a federal minister unrelated to security interfere in an ongoing police operation?
Bhai @murtazawahab1 please have John Rambo restrained, for his own safety. pic.twitter.com/FUgfaNIae1

People started criticizing the act and blamed PTI for this, saying kay MNA ab Pti say hai tau sab chalay ga
For a civilian it is unlawful to even display carrying arms let alone trying to be part of a sensitive ongoing operation. #SelfDefense is the purpose of license issued.
Maybe #Karachi ka MNA ub PTI se hay tou chalay ga –#Tabdeeli— Raza Haroon (@mrazaharoon) November 23, 2018
They wanted the minister to get arrested and said that this was a careless way of dealing with the situation
Faisal Vawda's stunt reminds me of those young irritating cousins who didn't know how to hold a bat but won't let you play untill you pad them up as well.

He is a water minister, is he thinking of himself an as aquaman? I wudnt like to believe so, this is unreal and really a careless act. Why @FaisalVawdaPTI why? 😄
— Salman Lodhi (@Lodhi_Sal) November 23, 2018
He was accused of breaching the counter-threat operation and was said to have just been ‘posing’ for the cameras
While media reporting on the Karachi terror attack left alot to be desired, Faisal Vawda’s James Bond pretensions for camera on the scene of the terror attack is an astounding breach of CT ops. What is next? Him firing RPGs? Who allowed him to be there? pic.twitter.com/5aJjUsVZoJ

May we never get to Faisal Vawda's attention seeking level

People raised sarcastic questions, asking that if Vawda was a trained professional
What in the blazes is Faisal Vawda doing at the #KarachiAttack site w a gun and using a bullet proof vest that could be given to a cop? Is he a trained commando?? #ChineseConsulate pic.twitter.com/BwXWY89jmA

Finally, Faisal Vawda responded by saying that it was his right to use the licensed weapon for his self defence
He further said that he was better than the ones who hid behind the keyboards and talked nonsense about others.
I was informed as I was in the vicinity & I further informed the concerned agencies. As a Pakistani I didn’t shy away, it’s my right to use my licensed weapon for self defence. At least I’m not a coward like many hiding behind keyboards and bullshitting.
— Faisal Vawda (@FaisalVawdaPTI) November 23, 2018
He asserted that as a federal minister it was his duty to assist federal agencies
And, he claimed to have spotted a few lifafa journalists. He also said that whenever the country will need him, he will be there.
I know all the lifafa journalists also and these social media cowards who can only criticise and sitting like chickens. As Fed min it is my domain to assist Federal agencies. I don’t run away when country needs you. So hell with whosoever has a problem with me being there
— Faisal Vawda (@FaisalVawdaPTI) November 23, 2018
Lastly, he tweeted that he was sorry for the ones who criticized him
At least I was there from the start till the end. Ask any media reporter present there. Feel sorry for those ducks criticising who are only liability to their parents and country
— Faisal Vawda (@FaisalVawdaPTI) November 23, 2018
People weren’t really happy with his response
Dear Faisal your act was way better than Arif Alvi's life boat performance in 5inch water I appreciate that but I wanna remind you about Water crises in Baldiya. Kindly look into that matter too if you get some time from your staged shows. Thanks https://t.co/YbrqEucK83

U need to understand this wasn't the time to show your heroism or bring out the Rambo in u. This was a serious OP going on and our LEAs were following strict SOPs. All u did was hinder the process & tried to distract them as they had to protect u also while fighting terrorists!!
— Sadaf Khan (@sadaf_khann) November 23, 2018
This thread is very informative. Find out who are the chickens, ducks and bullshitting around. https://t.co/YniPyTiBFX

His response basically invited A LOT of sarcasm
So Faisal Vawda for a moment thought he was Phayzal from Gangs of Wasaypur
— Mubashir Zaidi (@Xadeejournalist) November 23, 2018
But there were also people who ‘loved’ this act of ‘bravery’
@FaiselVawdaPTI You did the right thing you didn’t shy away when needed & Represented all @PTIofficial & Insafians by your presence! The ones criticizing you would have run in the opposite direction! @ImranKhanPTI @InsafPK

People viewed him as an example to follow
I respect your decision. I was pretty delighted to see you with police. We have a minister who didn’t care about his life. You have set up an excellent example. Ignore all these payed journalists. They will never appreciate good things. I stand with you
— Zarghaam Abbas (@abbas_zarghaam) November 23, 2018
They said that they respected the ‘kind’ of courage Vawda showed
Excuse me Sir Can i Have this Pistol…??? @FaisalVawdaPTI
Truely Respect your Courage… You don't need uniform to defend your country. It Just requires A brave heart to do so.#Media can cry but you proved to be a man of steel….#ChineseConsulate #Karachi— Muhammad Qasim Ali (@MQAliKhan) November 23, 2018
In the end, here’s a little image to sum up the debate
