Brighto Paints has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first and only Pakistani manufacturer so far in any category to be approved and listed in Qatar’s government-approved vendor ecosystem under Ashghal (Public Works Authority). This landmark accomplishment marks a significant breakthrough for both the company and Pakistan’s industrial sector.

The approval reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s manufacturing standards, technical expertise, and compliance with global quality benchmarks. With no other Pakistani company currently holding this certification, Brighto Paints has set a new precedent for the country’s export-oriented industries.

What is Ashghal?

Ashghal, officially known as Qatar’s Public Works Authority, is the central government body responsible for planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining Qatar’s public infrastructure. It plays a vital role in delivering the country’s national development goals through large-scale, world-class projects.

The authority oversees key sectors including:

  •        Public buildings including hospitals, schools, healthcare centers, and government offices/ residencies etc.
  • Roads and expressways, such as national highways, urban road networks, interchanges, flyovers, and smart traffic systems.
  • Complete project lifecycle management, from design approvals and contractor prequalification to construction supervision and long-term maintenance.

Ashghal’s approval process is recognized internationally as a rigorous and demanding benchmark. Products must comply with or exceed British Standards (BS), ASTM, AASHTO, and ISO requirements. The evaluation includes comprehensive laboratory testing, on-site application trials, long-term durability assessments, independent third-party verification, strict audits, and full material traceability.

Given Qatar’s harsh environmental conditions extreme heat, humidity, salinity, and intense UV exposure Ashghal maintains zero tolerance for failure. Only products that consistently demonstrate exceptional performance under these conditions are approved.

A Historic Achievement for Brighto Paints

A three-day audit and several third-party evaluations by international labs, along with a visit by the Ashghal team from Qatar to Brighto Paints’ Lahore factory, leading to Brighto Paints achieving Ashghal certification. Within this stringent framework, Brighto Paints has emerged as the only certified company from Pakistan to secure Ashghal approval. This distinction places the company alongside leading international brands operating in Qatar’s infrastructure and construction sectors.

The approval confirms that Brighto Paints’ products meet the highest standards of durability, performance, and reliability. It demonstrates that the company’s coatings can withstand demanding environmental conditions in real-world infrastructure projects, not just in laboratory settings.

This milestone highlights Brighto Paints’ strong research and development capabilities, advanced formulations, and strict quality control systems  qualities essential for competing in highly regulated international markets.

Additional International Approvals: DCL and SASO

In addition to Ashghal recognition, Brighto Paints has also secured approvals from DCL (Dubai) and SASO (Saudi Arabia), further strengthening its global credentials.

DCL (Dubai) certification reflects adherence to stringent technical and quality benchmarks, while SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) approval confirms compliance with Saudi Arabia’s regulatory and safety standards  another competitive and quality-focused market in the region.

These multiple certifications collectively position Brighto Paints as one of Pakistan’s most internationally compliant and export-ready paint manufacturers.

A Proud Moment for Pakistans Industrial Sector

Industry observers consider Brighto Paints’ Ashghal (Qatar), DCL (Dubai), and SASO (KSA) approvals a proud national achievement. The recognition reinforces Pakistan’s reputation as a producer of high-quality industrial and construction solutions capable of meeting global standards.

The milestone is expected to inspire other Pakistani manufacturers to pursue international certifications and raise their production standards. It also strengthens the country’s export potential and signals growing industrial maturity.

With its inclusion in Ashghal’s approved vendor ecosystem  along with DCL and SASO certifications  Brighto Paints has set a new benchmark for Pakistan’s coatings industry. The achievement sends a clear message that Pakistani manufacturing is fully capable of competing on the global stage.
