Day 1 of FPW saw Pakistani brand, Sana Safinaz, take over the ramp with her gorgeous collection that ranged from semi-formals to bridals. Day 2 saw a lot of Western wear, maxi dresses and over the top blouses, however, there was one collection that definitely stood out from the rest.
‘Generation’ showed their collection called ‘No Nonsense Nighat’.
They created ‘Nighat’, a character who interacts and takes part in her world and has a wardrobe that allows her to do so. In one of ‘Generations’ Instagram posts about this collection, the brand described it as “#NoNonsenseNighat: a re-imagination of unadulterated Pakistani style, updated for the 21st century practical and utilitarian woman!”
The brand’s eclectic vibe was very much present in the clothes shown on the ramp.
Generation was a definite breath of fresh air, as a lot of collections displayed heavy desi wear.
This is recalling of traditional design aesthetics as we’ve never seen before.
A focus on light fabric and print over embroidery makes for the best clothing one could ask for in the coming hot months.
The models’ get up has also been constructed to connect with ‘Nighat’, the parandas, flowers, and braids are all recollections of a past time and attitude.
The clean, desi aesthetic is very in-line with that ‘Generation’ has produced in the past.
This is one of the few brands that has stuck to their core brand messaging from the very beginning and have managed to refine their brand over the years.
This colorful and vibrant collection is pretty much perfect for the summer we experience in Pakistan.
