After her acquittal, it has been unsafe for Aasia Bibi to be released from jail.
Aasia Bibi has bee in the news for one week, now after she was acquitted for blasphemy charges by Pakistan’s Supreme Court. She was finally declared innocent after she was acquitted from blasphemy charges. She had been in prison for the last 9 years, and a great part of those 9 years for her were spent alone inside a solitary confinement prison cell.
Late Wednesday night there were reports that Aasia Bibi had been released from prison and was headed to Netherlands, which naturally caused a frenzy
And to further add to the idea that Aasia Bibi had left Pakistan, was a message from her lawyer to AFP saying that last he had heard was that Aasia and her family had boarded a plane but he did not know where it would land.

After the historical judgment was passed and Aasia Bibi was cleared of all charges by the Supreme Court, the far right present within Pakistan protested. The protests which were spearheaded by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan turned violent and immobilized the entire country for several days until the government agreed to several demands by the protesters, one of which included, Aasia’s name being put on the Exit Control List.
People were excited that Aasia was headed to the Netherlands
Farewell Aasia bibi. May you live in peace and start a new chapter in your life in a new home where you will be safe. One day, I hope Pakistan can guarantee the safety and security of its citizens not just in the Constitution but also in practice.

However, earlier today, the Foreign Office denied all news about Aasia Bibi having left Pakistan.
The Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry even tweeted about the entire event.

The entire situation is indeed a little confusing since contradicting reports emerge so often. According to Dawn.com, Aasia was transferred from Multan Jail to Islamabad with heavy security and of course, the government is keeping her whereabouts a secret because of security concerns.
