Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was spotted using Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold8. Following last year’s Galaxy Z Fold7, he was again seen using Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone with the newest model, drawing attention. In particular, the Galaxy Z Fold7 that Huang previously used is known to have been a gift from Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, prompting interest in whether Lee also handed over the latest device this time.
Huang received a phone call from U.S. President Donald Trump on the 14th (local time) while attending the All-In Summit in Los Angeles. During the call, Huang unfolded the smartphone he was using, switched to speakerphone, and showed the screen to attendees. In the process, it was captured that the unfolded smartphone was Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Z Fold8. The screen displayed “President Trump,” referring to President Trump.

This is not the first time Huang has been seen using Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone. On Trump’s visit to China in May, Huang was also spotted using the Galaxy Z Fold7. At the time, the Fold7 Huang used was reported to have been a gift from Chairman Lee Jae-yong. However, it is not known whether the Galaxy Z Fold8 unveiled this time was directly gifted by Chairman Lee or purchased separately by Huang.
As Huang was spotted using the latest Samsung foldable phone following the previous model, the close relationship between Samsung Electronics and Nvidia is again drawing attention. The two companies are expanding cooperation in the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor sector. Huang and Lee also met repeatedly recently to discuss AI semiconductors and supply chains.
