So many exciting dramas are coming up, we really can’t contain ourselves. Right now we’re hooked to dramas like ‘Ishq Tamasha’ and Ramazan special ‘Suno Chanda,’ while we also wait for upcoming partition serial ‘Aangan’ (reuniting Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir). Now we’re highly anticipating another drama that’s just unveiled itself – ‘Alif.’

The drama marks the return of Hamza Ali Abbasi to television after ‘Mann Mayal,’ something we honestly cannot wait for!

Hamza took to Twitter to confirm the rumor, addressing his reasoning for choosing to do the drama because it has a profound message underlying it, stating that ‘its message is something I really want people to see and understand.’

Hamza and Sajal will be sharing screen space for THE FIRST TIME EVER and this is legit going to be THE pairing to look out for!


The drama is produced by Six Sigma Plus’s Samina Humayun Saeed, the production company behind critically acclaimed dramas like ‘Besharam,’ ‘Dil Lagi’ and ‘Pyarey Afzal’


Kubra Khan has also joined the cast as one of the leading protagonists…could it be an interesting love story? We hope so!

The script has been written by titan Umera Ahmed, the woman behind ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai,’ ‘Daam,’ ‘Shehr-e-Zaat’ among others

Producer Sana Shahnawaz stated to ‘Something Haute’that “it has been beautifully written by Umera Ahmed with all her heart. We can’t wait to share it with the world.”

The role for Sajal has apparently been tailormade just for her, and she expressed how excited she is

Sajal will be playing Momina Sultan, and the actress stated how delighted she was when she was told about the script, claiming that everything she heard “felt beautiful.” She admitted she’s fallen in love with the script.

The reason the drama is called ‘Alif’ is that “apart from being the first alphabet, it holds the key to all the mysteries of life”
