The time is nigh for ‘Aangan’ to unfurl itself before us on television. It’s been incredibly hyped, with various behind-the-scenes shots surfacing on-screen and just the general anticipation lingering around the show, we’ve summed up thirteen honest reasons why we just CANNOT WAIT for the show.
AND NOW MAWRA HOCANE JUST REVEALED THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE DRAMA WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR LIKE FOREVER!
13th December. Is. The. Day. ARE YOU ALL READY?????
To celebrate the release (that’s next week y’all), here are 15 reasons why we can’t wait for it…
It’s a pre-partition drama all about the revolution of women in that particular epoch and will be told from a female’s perspective
It’s going to be very, VERY nostalgic and will be an unprecedented take on partition since them ‘Dastaan’ days
The screenplay has been penned by the wonderful Mustafa Afridi, the man behind the spectacular ‘Sang-e-mar Mar’
The drama will mark the enticing return of Ahad and Sajal as an on-screen pair!
The production’s no joke, you can tell with all the costumes too that they’re really getting into the whole ‘nostalgic’ vibe and boy oh boy, we legit cannot take it anymore!
It’s been directed by veteran Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, the man behind ‘Udaari’
The Sajal-Ahad fandom’s been hibernating (we’re a part of that too, btw) and we’re just waiting for an implosion of graphics, fangirling and overall explosive and uncontainable excitement on social media
Break the internet, ladies, and gents. We are with you.
Ahsan Khan returns to television after ‘Udaari’, and it’s no denying he’s a phenomenal method actor
…And he’s going to be sporting an avatar similar to his ‘Dastaan’ days, making it all the more enticing
Remember the zealously patriotic Saleem?
Ahsan will be romancing the three female leads, Sonya Hussyn, Mawra Hocane and Mehreen Raheal and is also apparently playing a double role!
‘Aangan’ is produced by MD Productions, so that’s a plus (the production company behind ‘Dastaan,’ ‘Humsafar’ and ‘Diyar-e-Dil’)
Ahad’s character will be allegedly romancing not just Sajal’s character, but also Mawra’s (judging by the BTS shots surfacing on social media)
The drama is based on the sensational (and award-winning novel) of the same name by Khadija Mastoor, written in 1962
‘Aangan’ was going to be a film, but THANKFULLY it was decided to be transitioned into a more in-depth play
Abid Ali returns as Ahsan’s character’s father (and ever since ‘Diyar-e-Dil,’ we absolutely ADORE him)!
Are you anticipating ‘Aangan’ as much as we are?
