Wasim Akram Is Pissed At The Pakistani Men's Cricket Team For Eating Too Much Biryani Before The World Cup

Our boys in green are in trouble with Wasim Akram

After their poor performance at the ODI series in the U.A.E, the Pakistani National Cricket team has been under a decent amount of heat, lately.

The Aussie team completely whitewashed our boys resulting in a social media hate spree, with fans all over the world calling out the team for their skills or lack thereof during the series.

In lieu of the ICC Cricket World Cup taking place this May in England and Wales, one man, in particular, is concerned about a very specific aspect of the game.

Yep. The former test captain and living legend, Akram stated that the team’s diet is crucial to their performance and not paying attention to a proper way of eating and living a healthy lifestyle can lead to failure in the World Cup next month.

According to Dawn, Wasim feels as though the players are eating junk food, as well as attending parties in which they are fed all sorts of meals, the number one dish being biryani. For something as big as the World Cup, Wasim thinks that the team needs to look and feel their best in order to perform.

Wasim bhai said, “our players are still being served biryani, you cannot compete against champions by feeding them biryani.”

Lol. And okay, let’s face it, our team isn’t exactly a group of supermodels.

Which is fine, but Wasim does have a point. If the team isn’t eating right, how can they expect to perform to the best of their abilities? These men are supposed to be among the best athletes in the nation.

According to sportsdieticians.com.au, a professional cricketer’s diet must contain whole grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy products and lean proteins. Cricket is a game of long hours and periods of low-intensity stand-ins in between. Because of this, if they’re not careful, players can gain unwanted weight. Which by the looks of it, has been happening to our team.

So, though it may sound harsh and though Wasim is pretty much taking away one of the best things this country has to offer on a plate, it is definitely for the better.  Let’s just see if they are able to pull it off before the World Cup begins.

It is time to shape up or ship out, boys.
