Pakistanis Can't Stop LOL-ing At How Dirty This Freezer Ad Secretly Is

By Zainab Ali | 26 Aug, 2018

It was a nice regular Eid day, and I was scrolling on my phone getting my daily dose of twitter goodness. That is, until, I saw a post that I still haven’t forgotten about.

This Eid, makes space for love with Waves! #EidMubarak

What is noteworthy here, you may ask?

Well, for starters: Waves is a home appliances manufacturing company in Pakistan. It’s a company which any Pakistani would have definitely heard of because of their famous tagline ‘Naam hi kaafi hai.” You probably have their refrigerators, air conditioners, or even their deep freezers at home.

Now speaking of deep freezers, and coming back to that advertisement, Waves decided to design an ad that kind of shocked a lot of Pakistanis

Are you ready for it?

The ad is attractive, colorful, and definitely designed for Eid, but the tagline? I don’t even know what to say. Did they think this through? Was this really their intention? So many questions, so little time.

And it’s not just the one ad, their whole campaign is pretty NSFW but equal parts hilarious

Even a not-so-exciting company like a home appliance one can’t get away with a tagline like that with the internet generation. So truly, the reactions were definitely something.

Some couldn’t help but appreciate the entendre laden minds of the Waves marketing team

If that wasn’t enough, people actually changed the tagline to make it more ‘suitable’

Waves, we don’t know if you did this on purpose or not, but hey, at least you made a few people laugh

If this was just a creative marketing strategy, it definitely caught our attention. However, if this truly was just a mistake, we can’t help but think who is actually in charge of marketing at Waves?

All is well that end’s well right? Although, still hoping to not see any future ads based on one’s ‘meat’.
