Lol, welcome to the club, Firdous.

Firdous Ashiq Awan was just appointed as the new ‘Special Assistant’ to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Awan, started her political career in 1990 geared towards aiding the healthcare system. Later in her career she joined PPP as an Information Minister before joining PTI in 2017, two years later.

Awan’s appointment comes after Asad Umar’s resignation, and several cabinet shuffles under Imran Khan’s administration including appointments of Awan, Nadeem Babar, Zafarullah Mirza and Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.

Changes in government isn’t really breaking news. But appointing someone like Firdous Ashiq Awan is viral news, for the people on Pakistani Twitter.

Yup.

Awan’s mannerisms have been a topic of conversation since her career began to take off. Everything from her brash points and crass conversations, quite frankly, it doesn’t come as quite a surprise that people on social media have been putting her front and centre.

Let’s just say  that we have no kind of political affiliations at all, but we do have a strong allegiance to a good sense of humour.

People all over social media have been cracking jokes around Awan’s appointment and we have to admit, they are pretty hilarious.

Lmao, clearly – many are not happy.

And many, have connected Bushra Bibi, our First Lady, to Firdous, alluding to the involvement of some kind of ‘mystic magic.’

Shook.

And well, some have even begun digging into her past, retweeting and sharing old clips of her most ‘notable’ interviews and instances in government.

However jokes and all aside, let’s hope that the change in cards of government will deal us a better hand in the future.

Have you seen the jokes online? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. Love you!
