After a gazillion dholkis, bridal showers, nikkah and Qawali Nights, Urwa and Farhan shaadi’s final event aka the reception took place last night, at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore. The event was an amalgamation of colors, dances, adorable family moments and the quintessential Pakistani bride-groom stuff.
And, I was there to bring you all kinds of low-down on what was actually happening at the reception, so here’s what happened:
First off, fortunately, everything started on time, which is surprising for a Pakistani shaadi.
The dances started at 8. Food at 9:30. Rukhsati, all of it was on time.
Qasim Yar Tiwana, or more commonly known as QYT, arranged the whole shaadi. He made sure to make Urwa’s special day uber special.

Farhan and Urwa entered to the Udaari soundtrack and looked absolutely surreal.
Mawra being the perfect maid-of-honor was doing literally everything.
From fixing Urwa’s lehenga after every two minutes to ensuring that everything started on time, she took take care of everything.

Mawra, dressed up to the NINES for her behn ki shaadi.
She donned a stunning Faraz Manan outfit and made sure whoever was dancing was in queue. But because she was engaged everywhere, she was absolutely flustered, with the amount of people who wanted to take a picture with her.

Urwa, on the other hand, was a bit of a bridezilla
Maybe it was all the management of the guests that she was doing, or the exhaustion of having been in such a long, tiring wedding as the “center” of attention, but Urwa would tend to get a little excited over how things were going at her event.
There were LOTS AND LOTS of celebrities
Resham, Nauman Ejaz, Bilal Lashari, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, Bushra Ansari, Sajal Aly, Armeena Rana, Zara Noor Abbas, Munib Nawaz were just some of the famous faces there in the celebrity quota.

Fawad Khan was there too, but only for two minutes.
Fawad Khan came and went all within 2 minutes. He took a picture with the couple and poof!
Urwa and Farhan were actually working more than they were having fun at their shaadi.
From greeting people to making sure everyone was having fun, they stepped out of their way to make the event memorable for all the guests.
The preliminaries were followed by insane amount of dances from both sides, with proper background dancers and the whole taam jhaam.
Mawra danced to the song “cutie pie”.
Mawra’s last solo performance was on Kheench Meri Photo.
Farhan danced with his bhaabis
The danced to a medley of Lo Challi Mein Upne Devar Ki Baarat Le Ke, Wah Wah Raamji, and Tenu Le Ke Mein.
Farhan also danced along his little nephew too and the entire scene was just so adorable.
The two sisters danced enthusiastically to Luv Letter which was the highlight of the day.
Then, by the end of it all, Urwa and Farhan ran off to their room and everyone else went home.

Here’s wishing Urwa and Farhan a very happy married life.
