Remember the super viral game, Pokemon Go?
The phone friendly game went viral when people all around the world had the chance to catch their very own Pokemon in real time. It was actually pretty insane and the fact that you could be part of such a strong part of your childhood in your adult life was wild.
Which two years later, has brought us to the next best thing. Now, we’ve done our waiting, in fact some would say, “twelve years’ of it.
That’s right Potterheads, 2019 is all set to bring in ‘Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.”
AND WE ARE NOT READY BUT WE ARE SO READY.
Launched by the same creators of Pokemon Go, Niantic has worked its magic once again in making yet another real time immersive game feeding off of another fandom.
We don’t know the exact release date yet, but the BETA version of Wizards Unite was made available in New Zealand, last week. The game is in play currently on both Android and iOS and is in its testing form so that the creators in studio can iron out any issues that may come about during the testing period.
The game will be coming out this year and rumour has it that we’ll be able to start casting spells as soon as this summer.
So let’s get into what the game actually entails, shall we?
The premise of ‘Wizards Unite’ is based on the fact that we, as wizards, part of the Statue of Secrecy Task Force. Our job will be to defend the wizarding world from being exposed and ensuring its secrecy which is OBVIOUSLY what all of us were born to do.
And don’t worry friends, all of the usual suspects will be in the games storyline. Harry, Ron, Hermione will all be around in our daily adventures because honestly what would the wizarding world even be without them. And don’t worry, you can join your real friends too as the game allows a maximum of five members in multiplayer mode.

Think about this people. Growing up, we all dreamed of being able to dive into the world of magic and sorcery and now we kind of sort of have a chance! It may not be a Hogwarts letter, but magic is magic, and we’ll take what we can get.
