If you’ve just woken up and missed the Oscars, then you’re in for a treat. La La Land won the Academy Award for Best Picture!
I’m joking.
It didn’t.
It was in fact Moonlight that won Best Picture in what happened to be one of the most surreal and dramatic unfolding of events on the history of entertainment television (kinda).
SO HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED…
First, presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty opened up the envelope and declared La La Land as winner of Best Picture without really so much as looking at the envelope…
And as soon as the film is announced, the cast and crew members walk together after an emotional embrace on stage to collect their awards.
BUT WAIT…
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T READ THE ENVELOPE!
And amidst all this confusion…
At least the most deserved film won the most important award of the night!
Bravo Moonlight!
