Pakistan has no shortage of magical spots when it comes to landscapes and scenery.
We’ve got out very own glow in the dark beaches,
Not to mention a secret island you and your friends can disappear to.
But one of the most beautiful and unique places in Pakistan, a complete wonder, is Ansoon Lake in the heart of Kaghan Valley.
Shaped like an actual tear, Ansoon lake is the highest lake in Pakistan at 14,000 feet above sea level in the district of Mansehra. The lake lives right by the highest mountain in Kaghan Valley, Malika E Parbat.
AKA, the Queen of Mountains.
Anywho, the lake is absolutely stunning and DEFINITELY something worth adding on to the bucket list. Don’t believe us? We’ll have the pictures do the talking.
For those of you who have already fallen in love with this sight for sore eyes, there are two ways to get to this heavenly place.
All you trekkers out there, the lake is a 9-hour trek from Saif Ul Malook. However, it’s going to be quite the uphill battle, literally, as the landscape you’re going to face is directly up a mountain.
As for the other option, you can jeep trek your to the lake by making your way through the valley of Mahandari, which is 40 kilometres south of Naran. This will take around 3 days. Though this may seem like a ton of time, we assure you, the natural beauty that you will be surrounded by will make it completely worth it.
Now just remember that if you want to take a real up and close look at this beauty, you’re going to want to head over in July and August, before the snow starts to fall.
Oh and next time someone tells you to ‘cry them a river,’ just show them Ansoo lake, then see if they have anything to say.
Have you been to the lake? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments below! Love you.
