Love him or hate him, there is no denying that Shahid Afridi aka Boom Boom Afridi aka lala, is one of the biggest names in cricket. He has fans not just in Pakistan but the entire world and rightfully so. His critics would argue that he has overstayed his welcome in the world of cricket, but that doesn’t take away from all his accomplishments.

 

Debuting at the tender age of 16, Afridi broke the record of fastest century in ODI

Since then he has many records under his name and on several occasions, he has lead Pakistan to victory in crucial matches

He has fans not just in Pakistan but the entire world. Even in countries where cricket is otherwise not played on a larger scale.

 

The City of Port Arthur in Texas, United States, celebrated Shahid Afridi Day Yesterday

 

Lala himself thanked the Mayor of Port Arthur noting that he was honoured that his achievements in cricket were recognized. Back in 2014 the Mayor of Port Arthur proclaimed the 5th of February as Shahid Afridi day. For some reason Pakistanis realized this year.
