Pakistanis Are Falling Back In Love With Him After Shahid Afridi Has Announced His Retirement

By Sarmad Amer | 23 Feb, 2017

Shahid Afridi has lately become rather notorious for announcing retirement and then taking it back. Most times, though, he preferred keeping his international match innings vague enough that people kept guessing if they were his last. However, many of his die-hard fans had become tired of Shahid Afridi not being in his top form, of late. Some were even calling for him to announce retirement while he still had a shred of dignity left.

Well, folks. Looks like Shahid bhai has heard your demands and a couple days ago he announced his retirement from international cricket, yet again.

This time, however, it seems like the decision is there to stay and fans who had once started loathing Lala are now falling back in love with him as they reminisce his tumultuous, but extremely entertaining career.

Here’s how fans are reacting to Lala’s retirement being a final thing this time around:

People are tweeting about how much of a hero Shahid bhai is

And how his services to the sport are unmatched

His playing stats are being shared, discussed and dissected

Statements like this are being made

And some folks have gone so far as to call him the ruler of the game

His contributions off the ground are being lauded as much as those on the ground

While others have gone crazy over his smile

This one’s asking for another U-Turn from Lala

While Boom Boom Afridi may have hung his bat, one thing’s for sure:

And he certainly is a legend.

Boom boom, forever.
