Virat Kohli Gave Shahid Afridi His Signed T-Shirt As A Retirement Gift And It's SO MUCH AWWW

By Sarah Babar | 19 Apr, 2017

Pakistan and India usually don’t get along. They almost never see eye to eye. Basically, it’s very difficult for Pakistan and India to be nice to each other, as of late. You see small-scale acts of kindness, every now and then, but they’re either brushed under the carpet or overshadowed by acts of hatred, from both ends.

And the biggest tiff between India and Pakistan comes during cricket matches. But waaaaait a second

Virat Kohli and the rest of the Indian Cricket Team just sent the sweetest present to the living legend that is Shahid Afridi, on his retirement.

Afridi is such a household name in both the countries that bacha bacha knows who he is and looks up to him.

And as of last Friday, he has completely retired from playing cricket. Afridi has had some great spells against the ultimate rivals, in his career. Some of his career-best performances have been during India versus Pakistan matches, like the ones in the Kanpur match in 2005, and again in the Asia Cup in 2014. And it’s no secret that things get very heated out there on the pitch…like…very heated..

The shirt sports (lol) the signatures of Indian legends and current players:

Ravi Shastri, Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra, Suresh Raina, Mohammed Shami, B.Kumar, Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Pawan Negi, Shikhar Dhawan, and A. Rahane.

The shirt was signed off with the words ‘It’s always a pleasure playing against you’, which we believe it always is because Shahid Afridi is known for his entertaining innings and general bol chaal.

We’re hoping that this is setting the foundation for a Pakistan versus India tournament, one that’s long overdue and much awaited.
