Sarwat Gilani has made a name for herself in the Pakistani entertainment industry. Not only has she made her name through dramas and films, but she’s also garnered a large social media. She and her husband, Fahad Mirza, have created a lot of ‘awws’ as have her sons.

Sarwat sat down with Samina Peerzada and spoke about her personal life, especially her love life. 

Samina asked her ‘Pehla pyaar kab hua?’, Sarwat responded by saying that she married the person she fell in love with. It turns out that Fahad Mirza and Sarwat were High School lovebirds and continued dating through college. A wrench was thrown into their love life when both Fahad and Sarwat both failed a course each during their university years, which put them both under pressure, both academically and from their families. She decided to step back and focus on herself.

Their ‘separation’ lasted 7 years till Fahad went in to see Sarwat perform in a theatre play.

She admits that when they started seeing each other, there was a lot of hurt between them, but they worked it out and the rest is history. Sarwat also talked about how Fahad’s family was always very welcoming to her and were constantly rooting for them to get back together.

She also talked about her personal life and how she transitioned into acting. 

She’s always been really creative and grew up in an artistic household. She ended up going to the ‘Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture’ where she studied Graphic Design. Indus was where she was also discovered by some directors who came in to speak at one of her classes. She never wanted to be an actress (like it usually is) but always wanted to be a painter.

She also talked about her beloved on-screen character, Gul from the JPNA franchise. As a drama and theatre actress, she said she is used to doing a character once, and then never going back to it, but with JPNA 2, she was forced to revisit the character and that proved to be a challenge for her, but the director Nadeem Baig calmed her nerves, and well, we all know she performed BEAUTIFULLY.
