NYFW concluded this week, but that doesn’t mean that there still isn’t plenty to discuss about the extraordinary week. World famous designers from far and wide congregated to display their fashion collections to the world.

Pakistani designer, Sania Maskatiya, was hand-picked by The Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers (CAAFD) to present her western wear line “Sania Studio’s Spring/Summer 2019” collection at New York Fashion Week.
A first for a local Pakistani designer, this is definitely a great moment for Pakistan and our fashion industry.

When asked about her accomplishments, Sania responded:
“This is a big breakthrough, not just for me but also for Pakistan’s fashion industry, the world will get to know more about Pakistan’s craftsmanship and that we as Pakistanis have so much more to offer”.

Sania played around with vibrant colors and kaleidoscopic prints in her collection and combines modern minimalism with antique fantasy. Here are some of her best looks from SS19:
She mixed and matched colorful prints and finished off with minimal jewelry.

Sania was extremely creative in her choice of cloth and cuts – keeping it creative and chic.

This retro piece with a fantasy Egyptian inspired print hugs the model’s body in all the right places – a must have for this fall/winter season.

Her collection also comprised of solid blacks – in both rompers and maxi dresses.

Geometry has always played an important role at fashion week and Sania did not miss out. She uses them in both subtle touches and leitmotifs.

The results were artful and playful – and not to mention elegant.

What a great achievement for Sania Maskatiya, she has definitely made her country very proud. What did you think of Sania’s collection? Let us know in the comments.
