The sudden wake of the #MeToo movement in India has proven catastrophic for the entertainment fraternity. Tanushree Dutta filed a complaint against Nana Patekar for changing a dance sequence so that he could grope her. Indian actor Alok Nath has been accused of rape and stripping in front of a female employee on the set of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain.’ Leading comedy troupe ‘All India Bakchod’ is in crumbles after its comedians were accused of sexual misconduct, forcing the company’s co-founders to step down. Phantom films (led by ‘Sacred Games’ directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane) was dissolved after rumors emerged that a third partner of the production house, Vikas Bahl sexually harassed an employee.
Now ‘Sacred Games’ writer Varun Grover has been accused of sexual harassment, and it’s looking incredibly grim for the Netflix show’s future

The writer denied all accusations in a tirade on Twitter, stating that the allegations were “completely fabricated, misleading and defamatory”
Varun said he denied all of it with “the conviction” he has “in his bones.”
Here's my detailed statement about the completely fabricated, misleading, and defamatory allegations against me. Am absolutely willing to cooperate and clear my name. Let's not allow such agenda-driven tactics to derail this movement please. pic.twitter.com/VTFeIjygcl

Netflix responded with an official statement, saying that “at this time, we are evaluating options for the path forward”
A trade source spoke to Indian publication ‘in.com’ and said that “In the light of recent allegations against one of the writers of ‘Sacred Games,’ Varun Grover, Netflix is considering some options on how to tackle the situation. They may drop the successful web series completely or drop the name of the writer.” (Source).

Could Netflix go the ‘House Of Cards’ route with ‘Sacred Games?’
When Kevin Spacey of ‘House Of Cards’ fame was accused of sexual harassment, ‘House Of Cards’ immediately dropped the actor and toplined Robin Wright the next season. So, ‘Sacred Games’ could drop Varun Grover and bring onboard a new writer maybe?
