Riz Ahmed And Jameela Jamil Are Boycotting A Bill Gates Foundation Event Because It's Honoring Modi

Riz Ahmed and Jameela Jamil are setting a standard for standing up against fascism!

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is about to honor Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the The Global Goalkeeper award for his governments work on promoting sanitation and hygiene in India.

Recently, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has come under fire for giving an award to Modi who is essentially responsible for the occupation of Kashmir

People all over the world have been raising their voice about the issue and bringing it to the attention of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation so they know that the man they are honoring with an award is responsible for millions of people being under house arrest, having no access to communication and children being deprived from going to school.

Riz Ahmed and Jameela Jamil were scheduled be present at the event but it is now announced they’re boycotting the event because of Modi

While the award ceremony is still supposed to go on as scheduled, apparently the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has confirmed that Riz Ahmed and Jameela Jamil have both pulled out of the award ceremony so as to protest the Indian Prime Minister Modi receiving an award even though he is responsible for the annexation of millions of people in Kashmir.

People are very proud of both Riz Ahmed and Jameela Jamil for standing up for the oppressed people of Kashmir

And now there are rumors that New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern might have also pulled out of the event as well

Her presence at the award ceremony as a speaker has been high publicized. There is no official confirmation regarding Prime Minister Ardern’s pulling out of the event as of yet.

People pointed out how detrimental it is that Henrietta Fore, the Executive Director of UNICEF was speaking at the same event as well. This would further legitimize Indian’s occupation of Kashmir as speaking at the same event where the man who is responsible for the entire thing in a way puts a seal of approval on him.

Hopefully the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation realizes that while Modi’s government might have worked towards sanitation and health in India, they are also responsible for millions of people including children being under house arrest and not being able to even go to school.

What do you think of Modi getting this award? Let us know in the comments below.
