Our neighbours celebrate their Independence Day on the 15th of August, and they do it with as much fervour as us.

But this year, things feel a little different in Pakistan on this day. Instead of the usual hate, you see for our neighbours being hurled on them as they celebrate their Independence Day, there was a lot of positivity from our side of the border for our neighbours.

And considering Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan talked about a better relationship with India in his victory speech, this isn’t very surprising but nonetheless, it is a welcome change.

Social media is filled with good wishes for Indians by Pakistanis as they celebrate their Independence Day and it is truly heart-warming to see!

And of course, there is a shared history the two countries have that cannot be ignored.

And people made sure they wished their favourite Indian bhabi in particular!

After Sania Mirza posted a heartwarming tweeting wishing Pakistanis a happy Independence Day, people made sure to return her well wishes a day later.

And Sania’s husband, Shoaib Malik followed in her example in wishing his Indian friends and family a happy independence day as well!

Our friends from India really appreciated his sentiment as well.

The good feelings all around were enough to make us get warm fuzzy feelings! Let’s hope this goodwill towards one another continues and we get closer to peace with India.

What do you think about this behaviour between citizens of both Pakistan and India? Let us know in the comments!
