Now that our Independence Day has been celebrated, it’s India’s turn.
Our neighbours celebrate their Independence Day on the 15th of August, and they do it with as much fervour as us.
But this year, things feel a little different in Pakistan on this day. Instead of the usual hate, you see for our neighbours being hurled on them as they celebrate their Independence Day, there was a lot of positivity from our side of the border for our neighbours.
And considering Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan talked about a better relationship with India in his victory speech, this isn’t very surprising but nonetheless, it is a welcome change.
Social media is filled with good wishes for Indians by Pakistanis as they celebrate their Independence Day and it is truly heart-warming to see!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY INDIA. Here's to dhinchik tracks, @JashneRekhta and the original Sakht Launda @Zakirism. We got only good wishes for you peeps across the border. Took this picture at a rather confused Traffic Signal last night. #IndependenceDayIndia pic.twitter.com/mcoYVleRXO

The good feelings all around were enough to make us get warm fuzzy feelings! Let’s hope this goodwill towards one another continues and we get closer to peace with India.
