The Pakistani High Commissioner Was Allegedly Drunk AF At An Award Ceremony And It's Kind Of Hilarious

By Rameeza Ahmad | 13 Sep, 2018

High Commissioner of Pakistan to London Sahibzada Ahmed Khan was invited to the IPPA which is an awards ceremony being held in the UK this year.

The High Commissioner was asked by them to come and present an award to a winner of a category. However, he had much more to say apart from announcing the winner.

Commissioner Khan was obviously drunk because he went off on a complete spiel.

He said some very weird things including his interactions with those on stage. At one instant he went up to Javed Sheikh and enquired about his diet and whether he was on the keto diet or not. Javed Sheikh did his best to humour the man, but it was very awkward since he was clearly slurring through his speech.

During the entire thing, the hosts of the award show Ahsan Khan and Sarwat Gillani were working very hard to control their laughter, clearly aware of what was going on.

While he was talking, the crowd was laughing, since his behaviour was incredibly funny for someone in such a serious position. At one point he even asked the crowd to stop laughing so he could make a point about ‘Naya Pakistan.

His shenanigans might have seemed funny to the attendees of the award show however, they might have cost him big time.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi took notice of his behaviour and was very unhappy.

He asked him to submit an explanation for his actions because it was very irresponsible for him. Clearly, ‘Naya Pakistan’ has no time for Pakistani high commissioners making a fool of themselves on stage.
