Osman Khalid Butt Just Opened Up About ‘Ehd-e-Wafa', Maya Ali, Ertuğrul, And Meera Jee In This Exclusive Interview

Osman Khalid Butt joined Sajeer Shaikh for a live session and talked about his time in quarantine and the art of juggling so many talents

Osman talked about the fact that he is doing as well as one can under such difficult circumstances and with having to shift his apartment and fixing the kinks present in his new place, he does not have much time to dwell on his thoughts.

He talked about his passions and stated that with dancing being his first passion. He tends to pursue whatever thing he feels passionate about or whatever sparks his interest. He also stated that as for his transition from a YouTube star to a TV actor, he had to mold himself into a newer version of his personality while also trying to not lose the real him and bring a little bit of him in all the characters that he has played.

He talked about his decision to be a part of Ehd-e-Wafa and also expressed his opinions on Turkish Drama Diriliş: Ertuğrul!

Talking about Ehd-e-Wafa, Osman Khalid Butt stated that he chose to be a part of the project because the central theme revolved around friendship and how he was naturally drawn to Wahaj’s character, but his desire to play a grey character overpowered that interest. He also stated that ‘Shahzain’ was a character that would stay with him for the rest of his life and explained how he would never prefer to play a character whose actions he cannot justify.

He also stated that he did reconsider shifting towards vlogging during these corona times but he is in the period of writing yet. We can, however, expect a YouTube revival. Moving forward, he talked about how digital media is the future but mainstream television can ‘never’ run out of production.

Commenting on how the Turkish drama, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, has gained such a huge audience, he stated that it shows the need for newer and different content.

Osman further talked about feminism and trolls.

While talking about Osman’s active alignment with the feminist movement, he stated that he has grown up under the influence of two very strong women – his mother, and his sister – and he has seen their struggle. He also stated that two women pop up in his head whenever he hears the word ‘strength’.

He also talked about bodily autonomy, while stating how Twitter can prove to be an effective medium to get one’s point across and make somebody understand something.

Additionally, Osman Khalid Butt talked about working with ‘Meera Jee‘ and the probability of him working in Bollywood!

Osman stated that it is everything once could ever imagine and more. He stated that with a wicked sense of humor, she is way more intelligent than what she is credited for and has a very great magnetism that enchants the screen.
