Osman Khalid Butt is set to star in the upcoming movie ‘Balu Mahi’ along with Ainy Jaffri. We know nothing about the movie AT ALL because, well, not a lot has been released thus far.
However all that is about to change because suddenly, there’s a lot happening achanak se:
Just two days ago the first poster for the movie was released.
But wait!
It looks very familiar, right?
Nope still no guesses? Let me help you out!
Two lovers holding each other, with a huge Mughal-esque arch hovering above, and candles everywhere. Aaah beautiful!
Well it could just be a huge coincidence? Lol. Who are we kidding? But some artistic inspiration here and there is forgivable, haina?
Even better than this “inspired” poster, though, is the abhi abhi naya released teaser for the song ‘Rang De Chunar’
This song follows in the trend of Pakistani movies having drop dead gorgeous cinematography.
Literally everything looks so crisp and clean. It’s blissfully surreal and really warms the heart to see.
The video starts off with mesmerising shots of an old city. Jalebis, decorated streets and malangs.
Full desi love story mahol, you guys.
Also, look at that sexy jalebi.
Then comes one of my personal favorite shots.
A very special appearance by a very special someone.
They decorated the damn Hiran Minar to serve as the background to none other than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Now, of course romance ke baghair koi movie ya TV show nahin hosakta
The foolproof formula of “buy girl chooriyan, put chooriyan on girl’s wrist and… taadaaa, she’s in love” is shown in oodles over here.
And they also go out on a pyaar ki kashti
That’s goals, right there.
We still know nothing much about the movie
But this song has lent much hope.
I mean aik hi gaanay mein we’ve seen good music, amazing cinematography and interesting (to say the least) costumes, so we’re definitely intrigued for more.
Jaatay jaatay aik comment about the state of our cinema right now:
There are just so many movies coming out these days, and in the future, and they all look pretty amazing. The thing that brings me the most happiness is that our cinema is growing and that too at pretty fast rate. Fingers crossed, this keeps on.
We eagerly await to hear about this movie, WE WANT MORE DETAILS, Osman, Ainy!
