Earlier this year, Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain Safdar were all sentenced to spend several years each in prison. However, in September, the Islamabad High Court granted them bail and suspended their sentences. The National Accountability Bureau appealed against this decision however it is still pending. But of course, there wasn’t just one case against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which leveled corruption charges against him.
Two more references concerning the setting up of Al-Azizia and Hill Metal Establishment in Saudia Arabia and Flagship Investment in the United Kingdom were heard today. The verdict for the case was supposed to be announced between 9-10 AM but surprise, surprise; it was delayed. No one knew when the verdict would be announced but according to reports by Dawn, PML-N workers started gathering outside the court from 7:30 AM onwards. The security around the court was beefed up to in case something untoward happened.
The verdict for the case pronounced Nawaz Sharif as guilty and sentenced him to 7 years in prison.

Even though earlier in the day, Nawaz Sharif claimed he was confident nothing would happen since he had a clean conscience.
A lot of people were ecstatic because of the announcement.

Some were kinda in denial
Nawaz Sharif is the most popular politician. He has his roots in poeple. People voted his party just for him. He delivered in his term. He can’t be eliminated from political arena. His vote bank is intact and its increasing exponentially courtesy his stance and sacrifices.

Some analysts are saying that the judgment against Nawaz Sharif is weak because it still does not provide any concrete evidence and is based on assumptions
Very Weak Judgment against Nawaz Sharif; once again it proves that Pakistani courts & criminal justice system are pathetically weak against super rich people and can only punish middle class people and businessmen for mistakes but are helpless against mega rich & their lawyers.

Again a weak judgment, surely NAB prosecutor played some foul there otherwise the basis of al.azizia, flagship and avenfield apartment is same so how you acquit someone in flagship while punishing him in other case, sharif family will surely get benifit in ISB high court
