Okay, being a fellow Islamabadi, I’ll be the first one to admit that joke has been done to DEATH and should be buried in the deep end of the ocean. It’s just lazy and WE DON’T EVEN SLEEP THAT EARLY. Having said that, the reason we made such a stark statement to begin with is that only the biggest music festival is coming to the city and of course y’all gotta be there.
Anyone who’s into events has heard about Music Mela. The annual extravaganza takes over Islamabad like a fever, bringing together culture, food and layer upon layers of music.
Don’t believe us? Check out the SICKKKK lineup:
So, our homeboys SomeWhat Super will be performing live with their trippy tunes.
You’ll remember them from Abid Brohi’s Sibbi Song along with multiple other hits. Listen to them LIVE.
Aaroh will be forcing you to headbang~
These guys need no introduction, what with their solid win at Pepsi Battle of the Bands, chart toppers like “Na Kaho” to their credit and names in the Pakistani rock hall of fame.
Sajjad Ali will mesmerize you with his nightingale voice.
Yep. You know he will.
Remember Roots from last year’s Pepsi Battle Of The Bands?
They’ll be there, too.
And, you’ll also get to hear the magnificent, the very, very talented – Zoe Viccaji
Other performers include Bakhshi Brothers, Bilal Khan, Chakwal Party and international acts like Mary McBride and DJ ROXX Remora.
Music Mela is being organized by FACE – Foundation For Arts, Culture & Education. As an NGO, the body is responsible for building peaceful communities through concerts, interactive performances, workshops, masterclasses and jam sessions. Last year, the foundation also brought Music Mela to Passau which was a musical retreat like no other.
With this year’s mega event, we’ll be witnessing multiple international and local collaborations bring out out fresh and raw music fit for anyone who has a taste for indie fusions. The event will be held on the 24th and 25th of March at PNCA, Islamabad.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your tickets here and have yourself a fun-filled weekend. You’re welcome.
