LGS is now saying the entire incident has been fabricated.
Late last month, a video by a university student from Lahore went viral where she described that she was barred from an event at Lahore Grammar School, Islamabad branch because she was wearing a niqaab.
The student alleged that the school mistreated her ad asked her to return back to Lahore without participation because of the way she chose to dress herself.
Farwa Munir, a student of UMT, is a very accomplished public speaker was asked to chair the World Health Organization committee at the LGS MUN, in LGS Islamabad. That’s when she said the incident happened.

The entire incident caused a big stir with a lot of people very angry about the entire situation on Farwa’s behalf.
Someone even tweeted to the Minister of Human Rights Shireen Mazari and asked her to take notice of the incident.
Engineering student Farwa Munir was invited at an event by Lahore Grammar School as a guest.
But, when she reached the school gate, they refused to let her enter because of her Niqab (veil).. WTH?

And Shireen Mazari, did take notice and asked the Provincial Education Minister to take notice of the incident.
Shameful. I don't wear the niqab but I will defend everyone's right to choose to wear it. And if we believe in freedom of choice we must respect the rights of those who choose to wear the niqab. Prov Min of Education must take note of this incident at LGS. https://t.co/LhwXJsS1rb

However, only 3 hours after she had tweeted her concern, Neelam Hussain, a founding Director at LGS reached out to her
Ms. Hussain reached out to Shireen Mazari by what looks like a Facebook messenger message, saying that the entire incident was fabricated and that Shireen Mazari should verify the facts before she assumes the position of ‘judge, jury, and executioner’.
Ok so got a quick response from LGS owner – but she misinterpreted my request for ed dept to look into the issue – I wanted an inquiry so was not acting as judge, jury & executioner. Anyhow here is the other side of the niqab story: pic.twitter.com/7j6oBxEzHt

To this, Shireen Mazari clarified that it was precisely an inquiry she wanted into the matter and never assumed the role judge or even attempted to sentence LGS.
But it is concerning that LGS is saying the entire incident has been fabricated because Farwa shared conversations where she was specifically told that she was selected to chair the event.

People on the internet have also noticed that the process of vetting for committee chairs at the Model UN event makes the response by LGS representative weird
Having chaired over 30 Model UN conferences and being the lead organizer for my own conference, I can safely say this response is fabricated. You invited a committee chair without going over her credentials? A former society president is incapable of moderating sessions?

This is what Farwa Munir has shared. If this is correct then Neelam can't claim that she was not qualified, after inviting her. Vetting should've been done before invitation, not at the gate. But this could be fake and Neelam may be right. This whole incident must be investigated pic.twitter.com/fl4vLemlBI

The situation remains unclear and we will probably find out more when an actual inquiry takes place. Stay tuned to our updates on events related to this incident.
