A year ago today, Junaid Jamshed and his wife were killed in a plane crash that took off from Chitral airport, along with 45 passengers. The heartbreaking news shook the nation, as it came to learn to live without a man of such wonder and talent. A year later, and Pakistan still remembers the legend, forever cherishing his memories and tremendous contribution to Pakistani culture and music.
According to news channel ‘Samaa TV,’ Junaid Jamshed’s last phone call came from close friend Salman Ahmed
Salman expressed his admiration to news publication for Junaid, with whom he was incredibly close with. Salman went on to express how his latest song is dedicated to his friend. ‘Door’ is slated for release on December 16th, and is a tribute to Junaid.

Throughout Junaid’s lifetime, he grew very close with fellow artist Salman Ahmed and both had a profoundly spiritual bond
Salman was traveling to New York when he heard of his friend’s death, and told news publication ‘Pakistan Today’: “my heart could not accept the news at the time.”

Salman also expressed how saintlike the man was; “there are various things that people don’t know about Junaid, such as how much he helped poor people, I spoke with him a few days ago and cannot believe that we are here now talking about him (his death).”
