An interview was given by Sarfraz Ahmed recently, where he seemed to be a little confused and overwhelmed as reporters kept piling on one question after another in English.
Since the Internet is a cruel and dark place, Sarfraz Ahmed soon, unfortunately, became a target for internet trolls – some of whom happened to be from across the border. The interview started doing the rounds and many people hopped on board to bash Sarfraz.
They took to ridiculing him on social media platforms

Many jokes were made at Sarfraz’s expense
False news. Sarfaraz can never speak this much in English that too so accurately!! :p @fakingnews
— Mihir Shah (@mihirhshah88) June 13, 2017
And people openly accepted the fact that they were mocking him
i respect every religion. Was just mocking Sarfaraz english, he was repeating that sentence on every question asked

Our always-vocal and strongly opinionated homeboy, Hamza Ali Abbasi addressed this issue as well. He released a video on his page, talking about how bashing a hardworking cricketer for a language that is not his mother tongue is absolutely absurd. Moreover, our brothers (and sisters) from across the border stepped up and called out their fellow countrymen for a talented cricketer incessantly for not being as well-versed as others when it came to the English language.

This did not go unnoticed
An Indian Page tried to Troll Sarfaraz for his English but the way Indians responded to this in Comment Section ?? pic.twitter.com/Ve7UK351NI

They highlighted how Sarfraz has proven his abilities as a cricketer
Even if Sarfaraz isn't good at talking English ,
He has proved his abilities n anchored Pakistan to defeat SL n make it through to semis !— Dr. ViveK ® Nukte . (@NukteVivek) June 14, 2017
And talked about how he’s a cricket player first
Exactly. He is player not a English professor. English is language only.
— nishit arvind vashi (@nishit29) June 14, 2017
They also mentioned how not knowing English is not a sin, as it is deemed to be so by many
Not Knowing English is No Sin. Let all the players speak their mother tongue, interpreters will do the rest.

Amongst all the tension..
Ye Hindustan mei boht badi bimari hai ki jise English nahi aati toh woh gavaar hai. This was in bad taste just like this years "Mauka" ad.

…it finally seemed like Indians and Pakistanis could come to some form of an agreement
Same is the case with Pakistan. We don't take pride in our own languages. Shameful behaviour full of inferiority complex

It’s heartwarming to see that despite everything, the two neighbors can find some form of common ground and have each other’s backs when necessary. Kinda makes you want to sit back and think, “yeh hui na baat.” What’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments.
