Many Pakistani celebrities wished all Hindus a happy and prosperous Diwali, however, most received tremendous criticism for it. People took to social media to cyberbully various celebrities and hurl unfortunate abuse at them. Pakistani actress Hina Altaf, in particular, received an unparallel multitude of hate after she posted a picture of herself wearing a bindi.
Hina posted this picture of herself in a lehenga, and a bindi as she wished her followers a Happy Diwali
The actress dedicated the picture to the “beloved Hindu community,” and said that “this is the only picture [she has] with bindiya“
The post quickly received explosive altercations of abuse hurled at Hina, with many wishing “lanat” on her
Yeah…the hate didn’t end there
Many didn’t understand the concept of members of different religions wishing each other on holy festivities
And while some took to the defence of the actress, stating that Bollywood stars often wish Muslims a happy Eid, and questioning why the actress is receiving so much hate
Most just flocked to the post to “shame” Hina and told her to become Hindu
Crude terms were used to label Hina, from “chichori” and “maili”
And many calling her a “bitch”
Sigh…time to leave this planet…
The actress posted a cryptic photo after the Diwali one, with the caption “I live by my own law…have fun” – which can be seen as a shut up call to all haters!
You go girl!
What are your thoughts on all the hate Hina received? Was it justified?
