Hassan Mahmood, the guy behind his transformation, shared his journey on Instagram. Hassan said that he was given the task to transform Fawad for his role in less than 12 to 14 weeks of time.

He also revealed that FK is Type 1 diabetic since about 20 years and has maintained a healthy lifestyle ever since. Keeping that in mind, he said that ‘the ‘Humsafar’ star has proved that with discipline, lifestyle adaptations and resilience, everything is possible.

Further on, he said that the challenging task that he was given was him monitoring pre, intra and post training blood sugar levels, obtaining a vivid understanding of the insulin resistance and sensitivity and, in addition to that, enter and exit the training session in the desired blood sugar levels. He said that they had to face 2 to 10 hour delays at times and the man worked hard to overcome other health issues but through all that, Fawad Khan wasn’t ready to give up. They managed to get the job done ‘by hook or by crook’.

One of the most challenging cases I have ever undertaken in my career as a Transformation Specialist & the most memorable on till date, was Fawad bhai's transformation for his character "Maula" for the cult classic remake" The Legend Of Maula Jatt". When we first met, I was told by the Director and my very dear friend @bilal_lashari that due to unforeseen reasons and technicalities we would not have much time on our hands. Meaning unlike my previous conventional cases, I did not have even the bare minimum time frame of 12 to 14 weeks. The instructions, however were crystal clear! To transform Fawad Bhai for his character "Maula", a physique never seen on his frame before. A dominating physique that would match his on screen rival Noori Nath, played my another dear friend and brother @realhamzaaliabbasi who I also had the privilege of training for the film for his respective role. Fawad bhai for all those who do not know is Type 1 diabetic since almost 20 years. His transformation is inspirational to the millions who suffer from diabetes. He is an epitome of strength & a role model to all those suffering from this condition. He has proved that with discipline, lifestyle adaptations & resilience anything/condition of any decree can be managed. And it was not easy! To monitor pre, intra & post training blood sugar levels, to obtaining a vivid understanding of the insulin resistance & sensitivity, to enter & exit the training session in the desired blood sugar levels is a feat in it's own right. To overcoming other health challenges, schedule conflicts, distance issues etc, the man pushed hard & never gave up! Our sessions would at times face delays from anywhere between 2 to 10 hours. Yet at the end of the day we got the job done by hook or by crook. Command your mind and the body follows suit. Ladies & Gentlemen, It has been an immense honour to help these gentlemen prepare for the most physically and mentally challenging roles of their career! We started as trainer and client, we now are brothers for life! I couldn't be prouder! It is still work in progress. You shall see the end results on the big screen 🙂 Regards, HM #fawadkhan #metroflexislamabad

By the way, for those of you who don’t know, Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic autoimmune condition that occurs when the body’s own immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. This attack leaves the pancreas with little or no ability to produce insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. Sugar stays in the blood and can cause serious damage to organ systems.

So you know, Fawad Khan really is the man of the hour. What do you think about his transformation? Let us know in the comments below.
