Bilawal lashed at Imran Khan with jokes that he has heard for so long

Yesterday was a huge day in Pakistani political history. For the first time in South Asian history, the courts announced death sentence to a former dictator. Former President General Pervez Musharraf was handed the sentence by the courts of Pakistan and it has definitely divided people in the country.

After Musharraf’s sentence was announced, DG ISPR issued a statement saying that the Pakistan Army is pained by the decision of the courts of Pakistan

Soon after, senior PTI Government leaders issued statements raising concerns about the decision also

Naturally, this led to a lot of discussion and back and forth among the people. Many are divided over whether the decision to sentence Musharraf was conducted via a fair trial.

Taking this opportunity to lash out, PPP chairman Bilawal Zardari trolled Imran Khan with a joke that Bilawal himself has heard countless times

Political opponents have joked that Bilawal, whose father former President Asif Ali Zardari has been jailed, is on an “abu bachao muhim” these days. Bilawal took the recent developments as an opportunity to troll the Prime Minister because he, along with other opposition parties have alleged that the PTI Government has been “selected” by the armed forces, who have supported Musharraf after this judgment.

Of course, the joke that Bilawal made about Imran Khan has been received quite well among social media users

Since it is a moment when opposition parties have the opportunity to troll the Government because of its stance to defend a former dictator, Bilawal’s joke is being appreciated by many people.

PTI supporters have lashed right back at Bilawal for trolling Imran Khan, though, by criticizing him for using the “Bhutto” name and not that of his own abu

Earlier, when the verdict against Musharraf was announced Bilawal had given a statement that implied that his mother’s murder had been avenged

General Musharraf was the outgoing President at the time of the murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and Bilawal, along with his party, have always officially accused Musharraf of being involved in it.

As the case unfolds, it is yet to be seen whether former President General Musharraf, who is in Dubai, will be brought back to Pakistan to be hanged, as per the sentence however the decision is definitely a landmark judgement and one that will have longstanding and historic consequences on the constitutional jurisprudence of Pakistan.
