Asma Rani was a student of MBBS in her third year. Her crime was that she wanted to become a doctor and concentrate on her studies before considering marriage proposals. However that was not enough for Mujahid Afridi, who asked for her hand in marriage.
She refused the proposal but little did she know that her life depended on it
Mujahid Afridi shot her for even daring to say no to her. The incident took place in Kohat and has been picked up on social media.

Just a year ago, Hina Shahnawaz lost her life in the same area. Her crime was that she was the sole bread winner of the family and did not want to settle with her paternal cousin. He decided to kill her and justified it by saying that he was against her work

These people need to be held and put behind bars for thinking so little of a woman and her agency to decide matters concerning her life
No individual should be able to do that within the country. This is the same ideology which promotes the thinking that women are at the disposal of men and need to be controlled in every manner possible. This needs to stop and can be done by stronger legislations and strict punishments for the culprits.
