Asma Rani was a student of MBBS in her third year. Her crime was that she wanted to become a doctor and concentrate on her studies before considering marriage proposals. However that was not enough for Mujahid Afridi, who asked for her hand in marriage.
She refused the proposal but little did she know that her life depended on it
Mujahid Afridi shot her for even daring to say no to her. The incident took place in Kohat and has been picked up on social media.

We must adapt to Islam's basic principle of 'Zero Ego' & make strategies to apply on Pakistani Men suffering from this Pre-Islamic Era Disease

#JusticeForAsmaRani Mujahid Afridi is a cold blooded murderer who must be brought to justice asap. Arresting his brother for aiding his escape is fine but KP authorities must get him deported from Saudi Arabia & get him punished. A user pointed out something very important and that is that the crime does not require killing an individual, it requires killing an ideology
We are living in fool's paradise thinking that arresting and hanging a killer will solve all the problems. We are less concerned about the real issue; the issue of sick mentality. #JusticeForAsmaRani

Just a year ago, Hina Shahnawaz lost her life in the same area. Her crime was that she was the sole bread winner of the family and did not want to settle with her paternal cousin. He decided to kill her and justified it by saying that he was against her work
Just a year ago, #Kohat saw how Hina Shahnawaz was shot multiple times when she dared to say no to a marriage proposal. And just close to her death anniversary, another young and bright woman loses her life because a man's ego was hurt. #JusticeForAsmaRani pic.twitter.com/bTPyXhfrXR

The idea that women are killed only for refusing marriage proposals shows how less we consider of women and their lives
Kohat: Last year it was Hina Shahnawaz, this year it's Asma Rani. They both lost their lives because of Men who couldn't take NO for an answer. One more reason for you not to get offended when someone says Men are trash. #JusticeForAsmaRani pic.twitter.com/YZGSGCZwjL

Women can't even reject a man without having to literally fear for their life.
Asma Rani was reportedly killed in Pakistan for rejecting a marriage proposal.
She named and shamed her killer before succumbing to injuries.#JusticeForAsmaRani

These people need to be held and put behind bars for thinking so little of a woman and her agency to decide matters concerning her life
No individual should be able to do that within the country. This is the same ideology which promotes the thinking that women are at the disposal of men and need to be controlled in every manner possible. This needs to stop and can be done by stronger legislations and strict punishments for the culprits.
