Shaukat Yousafzai gettin trolled for his comments
Ex Minister for Health Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Shaukat Yousafzai, recently stated that before PTI’s tenure, doctors and engineers were unemployed and used to sell pakoray. Such a disparaging comment coming from a political representative, goes without saying, ignited heated conversations and people were pissed.
During a press conference, Shaukat Yousafzai made some remarks about doctors and engineers being unemployed before PTI’s tenure
He said ” dekhein ye credit bhi toh PTI ko jata hai na ke itnay doctor bharti kiye hain, pehle toh saaray berozgaar thay, pakoray nahi baichtay thay, aap ko nahi pata? Pakoray nahi baichtay thay Khyber bazaar mein engineers, doctors”.

Obviously, the doctors and engineers of Pakistan didn’t appreciate Shaukat Yousafzai commenting on their profession like this
As offensive as it sounded, people were furious about such a belittling remark and wanted him to apologize immediately.

However, there was also an underlying motive to show support to pakora sellers and appreciate them for the hard work they put in to earn their bread
As hurtful as it is for doctors and engineers, it is equally offensive for the pakora sellers to have their profession demeaned. Hence, the celebration appeared more as a solidarity with every occupation.

The remark by Mr. Yousafzai was met with a lot of criticism from everyone and they channeled their anger into a celebration. It seems like the politicians need to be considerate and careful about what they speak and what spark can be created from their careless comments. A lot of people were of the view that politicians, in general don’t seem to respect other occupations and comparison to a pakora seller implied the profession wasn’t a respectable one.
