A new year calls for a new ensemble of enticing new Pakistani dramas we cannot wait to start watching. We have new on-screen pairings to look forward to, from Yumna Zaidi and Feroze Khan to Hamza Ali Abbasi and Sajal Aly. We have new storylines we honestly cannot wait for, and a new year will definitely bring about another gleaming basket of new obsessions.
Here are 11 of the most awaited ones!
1. Cheekh
Saba Qamar told us ‘Cheekh’ has been by far her hardest role – even more so than her role in ‘Baaghi.’ It’s about fighting against the rigid complexities our society holds, and by the looks of all the promos, it looks INSANE! We also finally get to see Bilal Abbas Khan opposite Saba – and wow they look SO good together 0n-screen!
2. Ae Muhabbat
Shahroz Sabzwari is going to be starring in a drama with a relatively unknown face; we’re excited because he truly is a phenomenal actor and each role he does is incredibly versatile and stands starkly alone.
3. Alif
Hamza Ali Abbasi back on television? Sajal Aly starring opposite him? I don’t really think there’s anything more to sell tbh. This is one we really cannot wait for.
4. Suno Chanda 2
The drama that won hearts across the nation became so immensely popular, the entire team decided to return this Ramazan for a season two! The entire cast will be back, and honestly, we cannot wait to see Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed back together.
5. Dil Kiya Karey
A fresh new pairing is joining forces for this Mehreen Jabbar production. ‘Dil Kiya Karey’ stars Yumna Zaidi and Feroze Khan, and from what we’re guessing, it’s going to be a twisted love triangle where somehow Feroze’s character won’t be able to marry the one he loves.
6. Anaa
We’re also really excited to see the effervescent Hania Aamir on-screen again in a Hum TV project, alongside Shahzad Sheikh. Hania feels like the girl next door, and her confidence from the promos is really infectious.
7. Dil e Bereham
Amar Khan and Wahaj Ali are the more underrated actors of the industry, but nonetheless their presence on-screen is never left unnoticed. Also, they both look HOT AF in this promo for A Plus – we really hope it does well; who knows, they could be our next pair to ship!
8. Kaisa Hai Naseeban
Another fresh pairing, Muneeb Butt and Ramsha Khan star in a drama about marital abuse – Muneeb has showcased his fine acting in all his dramas, be in ‘Baandi’ or in ‘Koi Chand Rakh,’ so we expect something even more outstanding from the actor in this ARY production.
9. Mere Pass Tum Ho
Our dreams are finally coming true in two-fold; Humayun Saeed is at long last returning to television with ace director Nadeem Baig (of ‘Dil Lagi’ fame), and he’ll be starring opposite the sensational Ayeza Khan! Kubra Khan is also part of the project, along with her upcoming drama ‘Alif.’
10. Surkh Chandni
Starring Sohai Ali Abro and Osman Khalid Butt, we can’t wait for this one. Both actors have been dropping photos from the drama, and their chemistry feels both intimate and buttery. We can’t wait! Both will be returning to television after quite some time.
11. Wajahat Rauf’s web series starring Mehwish Hayat and Azfar Rahman
A web series is in the works starring Mehwish and Azfar, directed by the man behind films ‘Lahore Se Aagey’ and ‘Karachi Se Lahore.’ Mehwish and Azfar are both vocally training for the musical inspired series, and we hope it doesn’t disappoint!
